Our Senses: sight

We have been talking about our bodies and things we can do with them. We have also discussed the limitations we can find in our everyday lives, if any of our senses fails.
While studying the eyes, and sight, our students tried to walk through obstacles, put Legos together, and pour water into a cup while blind folded.

The children also had an opportunity to feel and experiment with reading in Braille. They wrote their own names using Braille and then read them in Braille.

As part of our study on eyes and sight, we watched an episode of Caillou to open a discussion about Seeing Eye Dogs and blindness. In this episode Caillou meets a blind woman who uses her dog to guide her.
