Shape Monster
Make Shape Monster is a great
way to reinforce learning on shapes. Making these monsters also encouraged our
students to follow directions as some rules must to be followed. Our Monster

Number
Representations
Our students love to play this number matching game!
Students have to match together the three representations for each
number from zero to ten.
This game also helps to reinforce their number recognition in its
different representations.

Beautiful Geometric Designs
Colouring or pasting geometric shapes on pattern mats is another fun way to learn math skills! Our children love it. During our Rain Forest theme, the students used geometric shapes to create beautiful caterpillars and butterflies.

Exploring lines, shapes and pictures by manipulating rubber bands!
Geoboards are great for allowing children to create designs and build hand/eye coordination, while developing fine motor skills, as well as basic math skills.
Here you can see some pictures of our students playing and learning with Geoboards.

Graphing
After
reading “I Know an Old Lady who swallowed a Pie”, we figured out which type of
pie is the favorite in our classroom. And guess what? Apple pie and Blueberry
pie were tied!
Our
students helped us to graph their preferences, as you can check on our
classroom door.
